Tam Valley Seniors Club: Wednesdays 11:00am-1:00pm

TCSD has sponsored the Tam Valley Seniors Club for over a decade. This weekly program features occasional sing-alongs, regular bingo competitions, weekly desserts/monthly lunches and occasional off-site trips.

New this year, TCSD has added Classic Movies!!

On September 25, October 9, and November 13, 2019, there will be a showing of a classic movie at 1pm in the Tam Valley Community Center, following the Seniors’ weekly activities and bingo program. We hope this gives seniors the chance to meet like-minded neighbors and do something beyond bingo. A big thank you to community member Tania Yates, who is generously providing the senior program with three Jane Austen films for our fall movie series.

September 25, 2019: Pride and Prejudice

Jane Austen’s most light-hearted novel, written when she was quite young.  It dramatizes the process of getting 5 daughters married in rural England during the regency of George IV. Starring Keira Knightly and Matthew Macfayden. (approx. 2 hours, 9 minutes)

October 9, 2019: Persuasion

This movie follows the story of the middle daughter of a self-important, improvident father.  She took poor advice about a marriage prospect when she was 18 and unexpectedly gets a chance to reverse her decision. Starring Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry-Jones. (approx. 1 hour, 45minutes)

November 13, 2019: Emma

A well-intentioned young lady of independent means plays matchmaker to her friends in her village with mixed results. Starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeremy Northam. (approx. 2 hours)

Join us for a good old fashioned afternoon of movie watching and reminiscing about a different generation of actors.

This program is intended to be during daylight hours to help seniors safely transport themselves. If you are in need of help with transportation, an option is to call Whistlestop Wheels at (415) 454-1098.

Our Senior Coordinator, Jack, hopes to you'll try out the senior program soon!
