Solid Waste

TCSD is responsible for the collection of refuse, recycling, and green waste within the District. We serve approximately 2,200 residential and 20 commercial accounts. We have five (5) full-time drivers to perform the weekly collections (M-F including holidays). It is unique for a special district to actually be a solid waste hauler. No other special district or city/town in Marin County performs its own collections. They contract via a “franchise” agreement with a firm such as Mill Valley Refuse or Marin Sanitary Services to provide the service.
